Gentle Readers -
My apologies for staying away for so long. As many of you know, I find myself now living in Colorado, North America. I've thoroughly enjoyed the change, but the move certainly took it out of me.
In the past, we've talked about making a living as a copywriter by working only for yourself as an independent publisher. In today's guest article by Marketing Expert Ghulam Rezbi, you're going to learn how to choose the best niche to get started in...

How to Choose a Niche in Any Market
By Ghulam Rezbi, IMSecretsRevealed.com
Want to sell something but not sure what?
Join the gang.
The fact is, a lot of people preach a lot of things, but very few actually give any real guidance on what to do and how to go about doing it.
And, the truth is, no matter which niche you think of, someone's already been there, done that.
So, does that mean we're all stuffed?
Certainly not.
What it does mean is that there's a market for everything that's selling at the moment.
Let’s face it, if there wasn't a market for a particular product there wouldn't be anyone selling it,
would there?
Stands to reason, right?
Of course it does.
So, now I'm going to be a boring old git, and give you the run-around.
I'm gonna give you a boat-load (slight exaggeration) of principles you can use to eliminate what you shouldn't be looking at...
And, maybe, that'll give you some idea about what you should be looking at.
On with the lecture:
We humans, as a species, have needs and wants.
You paying attention?
That's needs... and wants.
What that means is there are certain things we need, and certain things we want.
Clear so far?
Good.
The needs are things which are, in essence, things we need (pun intended) to survive.
There are five of these basic needs?
What are they?
Clothes -- Unless you like going around in the nude (and getting arrested), you'll have a number of items to cover your scrawny frame.
The same goes for anyone a little less than scrawny. Maybe even more so.
Shelter -- I don't car what it is... a house, mansion or even a card board box... it's still shelter and it's a definite need.
Food -- Now, we all know there are some people who could do more... and there are those who could do with less... a lot less.
But, either way, no-one can do without food. At least not more than a few weeks.
Drink -- By this I mean, of course, some form of liquid. Not the type that makes you do funny things you wouldn't do sober. Anything to make sure you're hydrated.
Warmth -- Do I really need to explain this? There's so many ways you can get warm, but you need it... end of story.
But, just in case you doubt anything I've said so far, on a more serious note, think about what happens to those people who can't satisfy their basic needs and the resulting suffering:* Malnutrition* Homeless people* Pensioners who die from the cold
If you have any doubts, go ask them how they feel... before it's too late.
Okay, enough of the needs... let's explore a little of the wants.
This is an area where the only real constraint is finance: The more dosh you have, the more you can buy, and vice versa.
And, for those who have more money than sense, it's usually very difficult to satisfy their wants and desires.
You just have to look around at the movie shtars -- the more money they make, the more they want (I guess that probably goes for most people... check out the internet marketers).
And it doesn't end there.
Look at someone who live in a terraced house.
What is his or her desire?
A semi-detached house, of course.
And the one who live in a semi?
Well, would you believe a detached?
And once the detached becomes reality, the next step is probably a mansion.
And it keeps going on and on until the ultimate goal becomes none other than the White House.
But, of course, money can't buy that... can it?
Then, there's things like Playstation.
Once you have that what do you want?
A PSP, of course, or Wii, or whatever's the next big thing.
Believe me, I know: I've got kids.
Anyway, you get the idea -- we can go on and on... blah... blah... blah.
That's a quick explanation of the basic needs and wants.
And I mean quick... this ain't school, y'know.
Now, how does this affect your ability to pick a niche?
Easy.
It's really a process of elimination.
But, before I go on, let me stress that, this is my opinion -- so you can take it or leave.
Either way, don't blame me if you fall flat on your face just coz you didn’t bother to put in the required work.
So, here's how I do things.
You listening?
I hope so, coz I'm whispering this and I'm only doing it once... if you miss it, it's your problem...
Make a list of as many wants as you can.
That's right, forget the needs.
We don't care what people need -- they already know that.
What we care about is what people want.
The sort of stuff they're willing to fork out their life savings for.
That's right coz, you know what?
People will spend as little as possible on what they need, and a heck of a lot more on what they want.
And the way to get started is to make a list of your wants.
That's right, it can't get easier than knowing what you want, can it?
And, I do mean what you want -- not what you can afford.
Just imagine money is no object and you could have whatever your heart desires.
Remember, there are plenty of people out there who actually desire, and can afford, exactly what you wish you could.
And they could very well be your market.
Next, justify why you want those things.
Why justify?
Because, if you know why you want them, or at least make up reason why you want them, it'll be easier for you to give your prospects a reason to justify why they want them.
And, indeed, even need them.
After that, it's down to a process of elimination, like I said earlier, based on what you want to get into.
And, of course, what you have a good idea would be a good seller.
How do you decide what could be a good seller?
Research, my good friend, research.
But that's another article.
For now, make sure you've got enough ideas under your belt to get the creative juices flowing.
And then you might, just might, come up with a niche that's perfect for you... and your prospects.
Ciao.
